Jewish Family Serives Celeb Auction

JFS of Greater Wilkes-Barre has been successfully meeting the needs of the Jewish community since its founding in 1888. Assisting new immigrants, teaching children Jewish values and outreach programs for the elderly have been part of our mission for 120 years. Now, we need your help!Over 150 families received some form of assistance from us in 2008-2009. However, our United Way allocation was recently slashed by 32%. Given the rising cost of fuel, food and other basic necessities, we are anticipating more demand than ever for our services. No man, woman or child should ever go hungry or be cold! The Jewish Family Service will be partnering up with Wilkes University’s Zebra Communications students to help raise money through a silent celebrity sports and entertainment memorabilia auction. . This auction is open to the public and will be auctioning off items such as Dustin Hoffman autographed picture, Magic Johnson basketball, Gift Certificate Baskets, and much more.Come donate and support the Greater Wilkes-Barre area!

Pizza Hut and Charity

I found a old charity donation that Pizza Hut made in 2009 and there has been talk to have another charity in 2010. To help raise awareness about worldwide hunger, Pizza Hut turned Monday to its more than 17,500 Twitter followers to help spread the word about where they can donate money. For each re-tweet of its message, Pizza Hut pledged four meals to World Hunger Relief, a campaign that supports the United Nations World Food Programme and hunger relief agencies internationally.Pizza Hut, which tweets as @pizzahut, sent out this message on Monday: “We will donate 4 meals to World Hunger Relief for every four people that re-tweet." Global hunger has reached more than 1 billion hungry people around the world. “At Pizza Hut, our goal is to get the word out about what can be done to help feed the hungry. We’re asking our customers to help us spread the word through a simple tweet, and in exchange we will provide meals for World Hunger Relief”, said Scott Bergren, president of Pizza Hut.The donation period started on September 28 and ended Oct. 31 at midnight. Pizza Hut said donations will be made for the first 25,000 tweets, providing a total of 100,000 meals.
Now even though this is an old charity, i can see that pizza hut is trying to do alot of good in the world and make a difference. They turned to social media to help make their donation as big as possible and i think its great that their going to have another donation for this up coming year.

Motorola gets involved!

One of my favorite times of the year is coming and its the NFL Draft! This year there is alot of competition in all the po sitions on the football field such as quarterback, running back, wide recievers, linebackers, and also defensive tackles. With every year that goes by the draft gets bigger and bigger. This year the draft is going on Twitter! One of the company's that is getting involved is Mootorola. They are getting involved with a well knowen wide reciever, Chad Ochocinco. He is also getting a draft prospect involved, a 6-4 298 lbs monster and top pick, Gerald McCoy from Oklahoma. Motorola is giveing McCoy many things, such as transportation to events with free stuff, free service, new phone, and commercal coverage for having him mention Motorola and having him Tweet during the draft. When he Tweets during his draft, the page will be linked up to twitter.com and find "OCNN." Going to be a great draft this year and if you can't follow at home follow while tweeting.

Opening day in MLB

So Easter sunday! what more else can you ask for? There celebration, food, family, fun, eggs, oh and yea, how about one of the biggest games of the year! On Easter this year Major League Baseball decided to open up the season with a huge game, Yankees vs. Red Sox. Another great opportunuity for tweeting as well. On http://twitter.com/MLB, they had play by play updates that let you follow the game even if you are not around to watch it. Also on this site there were some links that they posted to show some cool scenes. Now I dont want to be all for one team but as i watching it now I'm rooting for the Red Sox. Sorry Yankees fans for buying a championship every year. lol. Getting back to watch the game. Happy Easter!!!!! ....haha by the way, hope you love my picture.

Pizza Hut loves tuesdays

Overseeing Pizza Huts twitter page over the semester, I can say that they never tweet as much as they do on tuesdays. Pizza Hut is branching out and has introduced Tusacni Pasta.
It comes in 2 flavors, Meaty Marinara and Creamy Chicken Alfredo. I tired out the Meaty Marinara flavor. It was delivered to m ydoor just as promised, and, you know what?
It was really good.
The pasta itself was done very well, there was lots of meat and cheese, not like some fast-food type pasta that looks like it might have accidentally run into some sauce.
It's a great alternative to pizza delivery. Tusacni Pasta are $11.99 each and it feeds four, and comes with breadsticks.

Now when it comes to tuesday's, they tweet alot. I think the most I counted in one day just reminding people about there deal was 11 times. Amazing. I think this must be a big deal for them but I encourage all of you guys to try it, I did and was really impressed.
